Wonderful photos of telescopes from Enrico Sachetti featured on Wired.
Enrico Sachetti once spent his days photographing models for the likes of Esquire and South American Vogue. He gave that up some time ago when he traded fashion for something less glamorous, but more mesmerizing: telescopes. He’s photographed more than 25 of the world’s largest for his series Time Machines, and never tires of them.
“Aesthetically they’re beautiful,” says Sacchetti. “I like the geometry of the construction. You have all these cables and wires. And these huge mirrors, plus all the different engines to move the damn telescope because they’re obviously very heavy pieces of machinery.”
